The Buffalo Bisons will unveil a statue honoring late Buffalo Mayor Jimmy Griffin in Coca-Cola Field Plaza at 4 p.m. today (Friday, August 17), followed by a home game against Lehigh Valley at 7:05 p.m.

Members of the Griffin family, Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, Congressman Brian Higgins and Bisons Vice President/General Manager Mike Buczkowski are expected to take part in the unveiling ceremony.

James "Jimmy" Griffin Buffalo’s longest serving mayor, passed away in 2008. According to the Bisons website  the statue will help preserve the memory of the late mayor and celebrate his contributions to professional baseball in Buffalo, including construction of Coca-Cola Field in 1988.
