The Kiwanis Club of East Aurora wants  to make  Guinness World Record history. Today, March 4 they are presenting the “World’s Largest Fish Fry.”

The number of fish fries sold by the Kiwanis Club of East Aurora has not yet reached the Guinness World Records, but this could be the year (with your help). The current record-holding number of fish fries sold took place on May 3, 2008, at the Polish Heritage Festival. The event sold 2,552 fish at the Erie County Fairgrounds.

This year’s fish fry will be takeout only, sold from 3 until 7 p.m., or until the last fish fry is distributed. Each fish fry dinner is $9, and includes coleslaw, potato salad, and rye bread with butter. All the proceeds raised from the fish fries will be donated towards the benefits of local charities in the Southtowns.

This year’s Kiwanis Club fish fryis at Parkdale Elementary School’s parking lot located on Girard Avenue in East Aurora.   Read the full story from the East Aurora Register.
