When you were in school, remember your teacher asking you "what did you do on your Summer vacation"? Well having just returned from Florida with my family, here is the recap.

  • Sanibel, Florida

We spent nearly a week in Sanibel, a city in Lee County, Florida located on Sanibel Island, with a population of under 7,000. More than half of Sanible and it's sister Captiva island are wildlife refuges, (J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge). The island's most famous landmark, is the Sanibel Lighthouse, located on the eastern end of the island.

  • You want to mix-in with the residents, so a pre-requisite is to look like Indiana Joe, er I mean Jones. We spent most of our time relaxing, tasting the local cuisine, and collecting shells which now sit in a variety of plastic bags on the "island" in our kitchen in Lancaster.
