Everyone is Irish on Saint Patrick’s Day!

We’re just a few days away from the wonderful time of the year when everyone grabs all the green they can find in their closets and heads downtown for one of the biggest celebrations of the year in Buffalo. This St. Patty’s weekend, join thousands to celebrate the rich Irish heritage of Buffalo with the city’s two major parades.

“Old Neighborhood” St. Patrick’s Day Parade

When: Saturday, March 15, 2014, 12 p.m.

Where: The historic streets of Old First Ward and the Valley (South Park Avenue to O’Connell Street)

Since 1994, this parade has retraced the original 1913 route through the historic streets of the Valley and Old First Ward neighborhoods. The parade starts at 12 p.m. on South Park Avenue and makes its way through Smith Street, Elk Street and Hamburg Street, finally ending on O’Connell Street.

United Irish American Association 2014 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

When: Sunday, March 16, 2014, 2 p.m.

Where: Delaware Avenue (Niagara Square to North Street)

Watch the city’s largest Irish parade, covering Delaware Avenue from Niagara Square to North Street. As usual, the United Irish American Association is going big, featuring Irish dancers, bands, civic organizations and, of course, Buffalo’s Irish finest.

And if you're coming down to the parade, consider joining Jack and Great Lakes Brewing Company for the Conway's Irish Ale Crawl! We're starting at Fat Bob's at noon, then heading to DBGBs and Hardware, and ending (at some point) at Frizzy's. Follow or “catch up” with us for free swag!
