Why Elin Nordegren knocked Down The House

When Elin Nordegren ripped down her 12 million dollar mansion we were all in shock and aww. I could not think of an explanation. She had just purchased the home. If this was not the one she wanted she should have searched  on till she found it. I can understand knocking down a few walls and an addition or two, but to demolish the whole house. Was it wasteful?  

Well maybe I was a little hasty in my judgement.  Apparently the reason for knocking down the beautiful home was ... TERMITES. Really. I had no idea that termites could make you knock down a home. I guess there was nothing a exterminator could do. The home also did not meet the hurricane standards of today. The mansion was built in 1920.
