Are You Buying Your Kid “Modern Warefare 3?” [VIDEO]

Get ready moms and dads.  Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is out in stores today.  The violent video game is rate ”M” for mature.  Can we all say “no” to our kids at once.  Probably not.

My son asked me for the new game last night.  I keep thinking “what happened to my sweet little boy who once loved only sports video games?”  I know the answer to that: the PlayStation 3 Network happened.

Ryan used to be happy playing baseball, hockey and football games on his PS2.  Last Christmas, he got a PS3.  Once Ryan was able to play online with his friends, he wanted the games they have so they could play together.  Many have Call of Duty and other violent games.  PlayStation really knew what it was doing when they created the network.  Kids with parents who hold out and don’t buy the game get left out.

I’m not rushing out to buy the new game for Ryan.  I would bet though he will have it by Christmas.  I’m not proud but I really don’t want to see him on the sidelines without his buddies.

We do though limit his time on violent games.  He’s happy to be able to play for an hour with his friends, and then he’ll switch to football or hockey video games.  He’s an active kid too, so he’s on the move a lot of times shooting pucks in the garage or playing football with the neighborhood boys.  I figure a good mix of activities will keep him on the straight and narrow.

So are you buying your kids the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3  video game?
