Friday is “Fast Food Restaurant Day”!

I know, you were just thinking about this. So I guess Friday's lunch decision will have to be one of the MANY fast-food choices. So who was the very first fast-food restaurant? You may be surprised at the answer!

I had to do a lot of research to come up with the answer...and I'm not even sure if this is 100% correct, though I do recall seeing something about it on the History Channel. As best as I can tell the first fast-food restaurant dates back to July 7, 1912 and was called "Automat". The New York city cafeteria had a variety of prepared food available behind small glass windows, opened by putting the correct amount of change in the coin slot. Automats grew in popularity in to the 1920's and 1930's with their slogan, "Less Work For Mother".
