It's always a great feeling to give back to others no matter what the situation.

In Delilah's case, she put together an organization to give back to a place where most patients are children.

My organization, Point Hope , supports a Buruli ulcer clinic in Ghana where most of the patients are children. The Buruli ulcer is a tropical bacterial disease that causes skin lesions which turn into large wounds. We provide surgeries and physical therapy for the patients with the worst cases, and we are constantly replenishing much-needed medical supplies.

Many of you, our Partners in Hope, have sent bandages and medical wraps for us to deliver to the patients in the clinic. We want you to know your donations are providing children with clean, sterile wraps that provide comfort and help to speed up the healing process, eliminating the need for patients to rinse and reuse filthy bandages. We also provide yarn and needles for those who have learned to knit from Jan, Point Hope's Executive Director.

If you would like to get involved, consider starting your own local "Point of Hope Chapter" and get with friends to collect medical bandages and knitting supplies to help stock the clinic. Host a Friday Night Girls get together and ask your friends to donate a couple things to your cause. Every donation, no matter the size, is a gift of love that goes a long way.

For more information about how to get involved or start your own Point of Hope Chapter, call 360-479-HOPE or email admin@pointhope.org.

Till we meet again tonight over the airwaves...

~Delilah
