2 weeks ago Yesterday I lived a tiny sliver of the busy-single-mom life. Granted, my child is not human, as you know (18-month-old yellow lab DJ doesn't constitute a daughter...though I'm sure she'd disagree), but it was still a marathon.
Motherhood is unique. When I was pregnant with my first child, Jenna, someone told me that having a baby is like having your heart ripped out of your body and letting it walk around outside you for the rest of your life. They were right. If my kids are happy, I am. If they're struggling, so am I. I feel what they feel, except a hundred times more. That's being a mom.
The passage of time can be scary. Seems like only yesterday the sitcom Punky Brewster was on NBC-TV. Now considered an 80’s sitcom, it starred Soleil Moon Frye as Penelope "Punky" Brewster.
