I stood in line for hours, bought a sweatshirt, became an alternate only to be denied entry into the Late Night with David Letterman Show. So I went around the corner to grab a sandwich and there he was. Rupert Jee of the Hello Deli, and he was a nice as could be to a fan, and he makes a darn good turkey sandwich.

There were no scheduled guests on the final episode of The Late Show With David Letterman (minus The Foo Fighters, who closed out the night with a performance of “Everlong”), but that didn’t mean that a few of Letterman’s old friends didn’t stop by to say goodbye one last time. All I can say is, Dave, thanks for the memories. In my opinion, by far, David Letterman is, and now was, the best in late night television. Yes, better that Carson and Leno combined. Alert, alert: Will Smith still has it. The star of the upcoming con man romantic comedy drama (co-ma rom-com-dram?) Focus hit The Late Show last night to chat it up with host David Letterman and, oh, yeah, to just randomly rap “Gettin Jiggy Wit It” alongside Letterman’s own band. Sure, most late night guests just walk out on stage, give a big hello, and sit down, but not Smith, who seemed determined to remind everyone of his rap roots.
