The Late Show With David Letterman

I stood in line for hours, bought a sweatshirt, became an alternate only to be denied entry into the Late Night with David Letterman Show. So I went around the corner to grab a sandwich and there he was. Rupert Jee of the Hello Deli, and he was a nice as could be to a fan, and he makes a darn good turkey sandwich.

There were no scheduled guests on the final episode of The Late Show With David Letterman (minus The Foo Fighters, who closed out the night with a performance of “Everlong”), but that didn’t mean that a few of Letterman’s old friends didn’t stop by to say goodbye one last time. Some of the funniest people alive all came together to present one final Top Ten list, Things I've Always Wanted to Say To Dave.

After 33 years, the late-night king has signed off...but not before a few good burns from his favorite celebs and former guests.

You don’t have to wait until later tonight to begin saying goodbye to David Letterman (though if you’re like us, you’ve already started that process) — you can do it right now. All I can say is, Dave, thanks for the memories. In my opinion, by far, David Letterman is, and now was, the best in late night television. Yes, better that Carson and Leno combined. He had a natural funniness about him and he seemed to poke just the right amount of fun at those who should be teased a little. Gonna miss ya Dave.

CBS Television will bid farewell to David Letterman in just a couple weeks, and tonight they will feature a special tribute to king of late night television.

With David Letterman departing The Late Show to make way for Stephen Colbert, the entire world waits with bated breath to see what this living legend will do after his final episode airs this May. Alert, alert: Will Smith still has it. The star of the upcoming con man romantic comedy drama (co-ma rom-com-dram?) Focus hit The Late Show last night to chat it up with host David Letterman and, oh, yeah, to just randomly rap “Gettin Jiggy Wit It” alongside Letterman’s own band. Sure, most late night guests just walk out on stage, give a big hello, and sit down, but not Smith, who seemed determined to remind everyone of his rap roots.

Well...not really. But, David Letterman couldn't help but bust Oscar Isaac's chops.

We now know the date for the first edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.  Long time Late Night host David Letterman announced in 2014 that he'll retire in 2015 and soon after that, Colbert was tapped as his replacement.
