Where Is The Best Place To Go For July 4th?

There are a lot of great local spots, but I'm thinking more of going away, finding somewhere special or some place that's really happening.

As far as I can recall, I've never been anywhere other than home of the Fourth of July.

Would it be a tropical island? Maybe a historic trip to Philadelphia? Or you could go in a totally different direction.
